After the Minister of Justice officially asked Croatian counterparts to
not extradite Ismail Morina in Serbia, other Albanian institutions have
reacted on his defense.
The Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and the President of the Albanian Football Federation have contacted with Croatian authorities to stop the extradition.
Morina was held in Croatia due to an international arrest order, issued by Serbia, which accuses him of raising the drone over Belgrade’s stadium during the match with Albania, which pushed Serbian fans to become violent and attack Albanian players.
The Court of First Instance in Croatia decided in favor of an extradition, while the decision was challenged at the Court of Appeal.
lbanian institutions were engaged today to convince Croatian authorities not to extradite Morina to Serbia.
