The “Plus” phone company has sued the Agency of Electronic Post
Communication, claiming that AEPC is refusing to give them the 3G
license.
Matilda Shehu, Executive Director of “Plus”, says they have been waiting for the tender since November, but none of the state institutions have started the process.
Another problem is about some claims related to the market regulation. The company claims that the agency has delayed some important decisions for the market functionality.
“The most recent case is a decision of 2014, that would have entered in effect on January 1st. It has been postponed and entered in effect on July 1st, as Plus had requested, as Plus had shown that the market regulation could not work in Albania. It has been proven starting from July 1st and until today that the equalization of the fees inside and outside the market is working”, Shehu says.
The company says they have raised their concerns recently, when the delayed measures have given effects in bringing more competition and better options for consumers.
