On December 9th, the International Day against Genocide, The Party for
Justice, Integration and Unity, and the “Chameria Association” organized
an activity in honor of the Albanians of Chameria. In 1944, more than
5000 Albanians died and 30.000 others were evicted from their homes.

For this occasion was presented the book “Paramithia, the civilization among tragedies”, by Nexhat Merxhushi and Mehmet Minga. The book treats the history of the city and the Paramithia Massacre on 27 June 1944, from which started the Greek genocide against the Chameria Albanians.

The Honorary President of the Party for Justice, Integration and Unity, Tahir Muhedini, asked all Albanians to work together for the Cham case, and make this injustice more visible.

Historians and scholars that were present in this activity declared that the best contribution for the Cham case, in terms of finding a solution to it, is that of the historians, who must work and write about this genocide and shed light on the truths of 1944.

The authors of the book, Nexhat Merxhushi and Mehmet Minga underlined their experience as starting point for this publishing.
