The majority has presented at the Media Commission a request for opening
the procedures to fulfill the four vacancies at the Audiovisual Media
Authority.

The vice chairman of the Media Commission and Education, Alfred Peza, has read not only the resolution for AMA, but also the draft-decision for filling the vacancy.

“A group of Parliament Members from the majority in this commission have proposed and we voted to announce the four vacancies for the Director of AMA, and three vacancies for AMA members. The commission asks the Parliament to publish the announcement and continue with the procedures to select the candidates”, Peza declared.

But this draft-decision of the majority was rejected by the opposition, who asked three days of time to get to know the details and give an opinion.

“The Commission cannot vote acts that are not filed here three days prior to the vote. We know that the draft-decision of Mr.Peza was issused on Friday. We ask member Boci to say when they will send it to the Commissions, so that the process for reviewing it can be completely legal. We will review it in the days to come and will start with the voting procedure”, Pollo declared.

After Genc Pollo left, the Commission was led by vice chairman Alfred Peza.

By the end of the meeting it was decided that the draft-decisions will be voted on May fifth, and the road for filling the AMA vacancy will be open, since it has been working for more than one year with members and a director whose mandate has expired.
