Petrit Vasili resigned as leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration, proposing Monika Kryemadhi as the next leader.

Vasili’s position will now be to serve as Chairman of the Parliamentary Group.

Vasili said in a press release that the mission of the SMI is now the creation of a new spirit.

“Our responsibilities are not related to the SMI only, but also to the Albanian citizens. I have decided to resign, and I have received trust from the party’s leadership to lead the Parliamentary group.  I propose Monika Kryemadhi to carry on leading the party, not only as vice leader, but also for her extraordinary political qualities”, Vasili said.
