The Minister for Development and Cooperation at the Danish Kingdom,
Friis Bach, declared that great challenges await Albania since all
democracies need independent institutions.

“We are inspired for the future partnership of Albania. We see a series of steps that are still ahead, and many challenges. We will work further to reinforce the democracy in Albania. All democracies need strong and independent institutions that could serve as the voice of citizens. Albania’s place is at the EU, but the ticket is not free, hence great efforts are needed. This is a challenge and an opportunity that is given to Albania”, the Minister declared.

The Danish Minister was welcomed by the Ombudsman Igli Totozani, who expressed his gratitude for the support that the Danish Kingdom has given to this institution since its creation.

“There a strong connection between our institution and the Kingdom of Denmark, the Foreign Ministry of Denmark and the Danish Ombudsman, the cooperation with which has started in the first steps of this institution and will continue in the years to come. For this I expressed my gratitude to the Minister, for the unreserved help in consolidating and creating a very important constitutional institution such as the Ombudsman”, Totozani declared.
