28/03/2011 16:55

From this Monday morning, the passport and identity card application process has started also in the General Consulate of Thessaloniki for the Albanian citizens who live and work in north Greece.

What deserves attention is the new and modern method of the application process by this consulate’s staff, in order to avoid big queues.

“First way of application is with the applicant sending his name and passport number with a SMS to 6980920137. He will have an instant answer with another SMS informing the exact time of the meeting. One message can contain six different names of the same family”, says Adelina Zhegu, consulate’s adviser.

The second way is by calling 7007001103 at any working day from 08:00 to 12:00, except Saturdays and Sundays.

The consulate’s official will take the data and will communicate to the applicants the day and meeting hour.

Naturally, the application will be processed after the applicants will submit the payment bill of 108 Euros for the passport and 10 Euros for the identity card, payment that can be done in every branch of the National Bank of Greece.

“The applicants should possess an identifying document: a passport, car license, identity card, a valid certificate with a photo attached. Children younger than 18 years old should be accompanied by at least one of the parents with a family certificate that proves the child’s paternity”, Klarita Mërkuri clarifies, as technical secretary of the consulate.

Application instructions are available on the consulate’s telephone secretary, while on the consulate’s web, the information will be available for some days.
