The “CEZ” case will be investigated by two Parliamentary Commissions.
After the commission requested by the opposition, which will investigate
the understanding agreement ebtween the government and CEZ, there will
be another commission that will investigate the privatization of this
company by the former government of the Democratic Party.

The request comes from a group of Parliament Members from the Socialist party, based on an audit of the Ministry of Energy. According to the MPs, it has found several legal irregularities and favoring of the CEZ company not only during the privatization, but also after it.

The audit the Socialists refer to, shows that the former government of the Democratic Party has favored CEZ illegally from 2009 to 2013, causing a 57.9 billion ALL, or 414 million EUR.

The request lists the elements that have led to this damage, starting from favoring to bad loans, reducing energy price from KESH to CEZ. Both will be investigated by a special commission.

These accusations come after what the opposition has been articulating for a long time, although they say the robbery has taken place not during the privatization, when they were in government, but when CEZ passed under government management by the incumbent government.

The Democratic Party say that through an understanding agreement with CEZ, the government has stolen 600 million EUR from the Albanian citizens, which should be paid by the Czech company but that were given away. For this there will be a parliamentary investigative commission.
