US and EU ambassadors, Donald Lu and Romana Vlahutin, met several times
these days with Parliament Speaker Meta and the Chairman of the Justice
Reform Commission, Fatmir Xhafaj, regarding a quick adoption of the
vetting law.
The Parliament Speaker said that the Constitutional Amends that make way for these seven new laws will enter in effect on August 11th. Although the opposition has spoken about other Parliamentary rules that postpone the laws in September, the Parliament Speaker said there will be consensus.
The Democratic Party has worked so far to change the seven laws, even the “Vetting”, but their stance will be declared when the meeting will be held. The opposition let signs they may challenge the law at the Constitutional Court if parties act unilaterally.
