The Parliament of Albania has suspended the chairman of the Democratic
Party Parliamentary Group, Edi Paloka, with five days from all sessions.

The decision was approved with only the votes of the Socialist Party, since the Democratic Party voted against. The Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, abstained.

Paloka was suspended after physically attacking the Health Minister, Ilir Beqja, in the Parliament’s podium.

The Vice Chairman of the DP parliamentary group, Edmond Spaho, said that this decision is not fair. “We will continue to make opposition in Parliament”, Spaho said.
