Head of Parliamentary Investigating Commission, Erion Braçe, demanded the Albanian Parliament to substitute the deputies of the majority or to postpone the deadlines provided on the Parliamentary Protocol for the Investigation Commission, which focuses on the investigation of the Parliament directors’ activities.
“We will ask the Parliament to substitute the resigned members of the Parliamentary Commission and to freeze the deadlines until the commission will have the necessary numbers in order to function properly”, Braçe declared.
The majority deputies will be engaged on the Electoral Campaign until May 8th, which will prevent the Commission from working properly.
The opposition says that the job of the investigating commission lasts only four months, and this is the reason why the Parliament should take these demands in consideration.
“The epidemics of protecting the culprit – as you have noted in Courts by maneuvering with the terms of preliminary arrests and making possible to Basha and Mediu escape processing – has arrived even in the Albanian Parliament. This is very grave and everyone should be concerned”, Braçe emphasized.
The opposition demanded the investigation of the Parliament directors’ work for the period 2005-2010.
