01/11/2011 00:00
The Majority MPs of the Parliamentary Commission of Economy rejected the
candidacy of Sali Shehu, decreed by the Albanian President as Chairman
of the Supreme State Audit with the pretences that he doesn’t fulfill
the legal criteria.
The majority MPs declared that Shehu’s candidacy involved conflict of interest. Edmond Spaho, Chairman of this Commission, declared that the procedures followed by the President are illegal, since he hasn’t been consulted with the Parliament.
Mr.Shehu declared that this refusal is politically motivated. The Opposition gave no opinion for Shehu’s candidacy, but they opposed the procedure followed by the majority. They asked for a plenary session with secret votes.
