
The Albanian Parliament passed the
changes in the budget only with the votes of the majority, reducing the government’s expenses with 18.4
billion ALL, due to the decrease of the revenues in the first part
of the year.
The new budget cuts the public investments with 8.6 billion ALL and operative and maintenance expenses with 4.5 billion ALL. But the cuts affect even some social protection funds, such as the 500 million ALL fund promised by the government as compensation to the families in need.
The wage increase fund is reduced with 33%, and the pension increase fund is reduced with 20%. In total, the budget expenses will be 390.6 billion ALL, while the new debt that will be taken for the year is 46.8 billion ALL.
