The news for the abandonment of the European currency is hypothetical
for international experts, but the news has caused panic in Balkan
countries that have always used this currency for their savings.
In Tirana, Skopje and Belgrade, the value of the domestic currencies increased in the recent days, while people are rushing to change the Euro in alternative currencies, declares the Shqip Newspaper.
Yesterday ALL reached the lowest quota against EUR since January 11th of this year, and the same happened with the USD.
November was not a positive month for ALL, and the same story has been for the last decade during this month, due to the increase of imports for energy and foods.
But the apocalyptic news of the international media have encouraged many Albanians to sell Euros, while others are rushing to buy Euro so that they can benefit from a better exchange rate for covering the monthly mortgage payments.
The same situation is reported in other Balkan countries. Panic among the population in Macedonia obliged the Bank Governor to declare that nothing apocalyptic is expected to happen.
