The Albanian government admitted that they are preparing a second negotiation with Greece for the maritime border agreement.

This agreement was rejected by a Constitutional Court decision of Albania, and according to the Foreign Minister, Edmond Panariti, this decision will be the base of negotiation with the Greek counterparts.

This is all that has been officially confirmed by the Head of the diplomacy, who was laconic in his answers by not giving other details.

“The teams are working and right after I will have a result, we will meet and discuss the further steps to be taken”, Panariti declared.

On what bases are they working?

We are working on the bases of the international and national legislation.

This is the difference to the previous negotiations?

You know that there is a Constitutional Court decision that cancelled the previous practice, and based on that we are reviewing the entire process.

Can you give us any other detail?

I cannot, because it would be prematurely and speculative to publish still undergoing results.

When will the negotiations be complete?

Soon enough.

With the same laconism, the Albanian Foreign Minister answered for the position of the Greek counterparts in the negotiation of this agreement, which has no official conclusion yet.

Is there any pressure from the Greek counterpart for the Albanians to accept their request about the maritime border agreement?

There is no pressure of any kind.
