Albania and Kosovo will have a common ABC book. The 10 member commission
will select the publishing house that will have full responsibilities
for this important text for the Albanian language unification.
The Minister of Education, Myqerem Tafaj, declared that this ABC book will be available for all children in Kosovo, but the Albanian school directories will chose the ABC book they prefer, based on the “alter-text”.
“The Kosovo Ministry of Education has accepted our procedures. We will have a common Commission and the evaluation process will start. This ABC book will be used by the children, while we have four ABC books in Albania and they cannot be removed from the market and it will still be up to the schools to choose their text, after the new one will be approved”, Minister Tafaj decalred.
The Minister education declared that the procedures for the election of the publishing house will be transparent and will be implemented in all steps.
