The Palestinian ambassador in Albania declared that his country
addressed to the UN after failing with the negotiations led by the
United States. According to the ambassador, Palestine is making this
request for understanding what Israel really wants, one or two states.

“We addressed to the UN for making it clear to the US and all other nations of the world that we are a people that seeks its independence. We are addressing our efforts to the UN, after failing with the peace negotiations that lasted more than 20 years, after refusing to implement all bilateral agreements and by rejecting all international agreements. Israel doesn’t want peace, but other operations. US supervised these negotiations for 20 years. They were negotiators, not initiators. But the negotiations failed. No one can answer today what Israel really wants. Does they want a Palestine state or only their own state? If they want one state for both people, then Israel is working against its own interests. If he wants two states, then they must announce that to the entire world where the Palestinian state stands in this case”, declared the Palestinian ambassador, Issam Massatha.

The Palestinian ambassador declares that his government is aware of the US veto, but he says that he is very optimistic about the votes of the British and French governments.

“Russia and China are in favor. France and Britain are also for a solution that favors both states, for the establishment of the Palestinian state as all other states. But I don’t know how the Great Britain and France will vote”, the ambassador declared.

According to the ambassador, Albania will vote in favor of the Palestinian state.

“Normally, we have contacted with the Albanian authorities and we are convinced that they will vote for the recognition of the Palestinian state, because Albania has recognized Palestine since 1988, and the embassy of the Palestinian state opened in Albania in 1989, only one year after. Albania’s interests and the interest of the international opinion are to support the Palestinians’ independence, their freedom and justice. We are convinced that Albania will favor the Palestinian state”, the ambassador declared.

The independence of Palestine has been recognized by 126 countries and has established 90 embassies in the last 20 years.
