Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future For more than 30 minutes, the head of the OSCE in Tirana, Eugen
Wollfarth, held an introductory meeting with the new Central Election
Commission members.
“This was the first meeting with the new CEC Chairwoman, Mrs. Lleshi, and the vice Chairman Biba. It is very important for the elections of 2013 to keep a cooperation spirit in a technical level. After this meeting I am convinced that there are the best possibilities for this Commission to give the best services for the country. We are expecting to have and ODIHR observatory mission for the General Elections of 2013. Together with the OSCE representatives they are preparing some projects and we are ready to keep supporting CEC with its work. The next steps are about the help that the CEC will receive for the technical elements, such as the electronic identification and ballot count”, Wollfarth declared.
Asked by Top Channel about the determination shown by the majority for replacing the General Prosecutor by the end of November, Wollfarth declared: “It’s to be seen. The Constitutional interpretations are still undergoing. I trust that there will be a good solution. The most important is to find a qualified personality that would be able to make the Prosecutor’s work in a neutral and impartial way”.
The OSCE ambassador declared that “according to the Constitutional amends of May 2008 and May 2013, that is the time when the General Prosecutor should be replaced.”
