During a meeting in Durres, the OSCE ambassador, Eugen Wollfarth, appealed politics to cooperate and pass the qualified majority laws that are related with the country’s EU integration.

“The legal developments in Albania are really essential. The legal developments are usually translated to reform processes. It is very important to make the right preparations on time”, Wollfarth declared.

He asked the politicians to find a solution to the Fier district, so that they can make way for cooperation. “Albania’s EU integration demands a further social, economic and political development. It would be good to see good decisions taken on the right time, and this time is now”, the Ambassador declared.

The Head of the OSCE valued as very important the reform process for the EU integration. While confirming that there are still many problems, he invited everyone to see the achievements, among which are the Electoral Code and the immunity removal.

“We have seen important steps in reforms, such as the Electoral College, and it would be good to continue with this process. It would be better for the country and this is the best time. These are decisions that are taken in Parliament, keeping in mind the general political situation”, Wollfarth declared.

The diplomat valued the positive cooperation signals that are coming from both political sides. Wollfarth released these declarations after a meeting held at the Durres Municipality for valuing the young people that were involved in volunteer work for the community.
