After the shocking murder of a 25-year-old man near his home by a police officer in Tirana, the Democratic Party Youth Forum marched from the Ministry of Interior to the Prime Minister office, calling the Interior Minister Lleshaj and Prime Minister Rama killers and culprits of this event.
“We were supposed to celebrate yesterday, but it turned into a day of mourning. Unbelievable how a young man with friuts in his hand was killed by the police fire. Behind the murderous hand of the policeman hides that of Minister Sander Lleshaj, this is the model of the police that he promotes”, says a spokesperson of the protest.
With placards in their hands, the DP’s youths consider the police to be a means of the power, not of the state, and show that they feel unprotected on city streets, raising the question ‘who should we call when the police kills people’?
“I am just outraged by what happened. He was a young man 5 years older than me who was killed mercilessly. “We must seek justice for Klodian,” said a protest participant.
