Thousands of citizens from various cities joined the opposition’s appeal for a protest against the government.

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, accused the government and the majority of making the people poorer by raising prices and taxes.

Basha asked the Prime Minister to listen to the citizens’ voice. He said that Edi Rama is unable to keep his promises, and that’s why he is establishing dictatorship for ruling through violence.

“We are here today to remind him of his lies, and ask him why he is not governing but he wants to rule. Why doesn’t he listen to the citizens, but he hits them behind their backs. This is not a government but a disaster. Rama should not hide in the bunkers of the dictatorship. He should not disappear from the screens. Poverty is not an option. Don’t play with the citizens’ patience. Don’t play with the future and the food of their children. On behalf of the Albanian citizens, and with the conviction that a bigger poverty and a bigger economic deterioration is about to come, I ask the Rama-Meta government, as opposition leader, to not make life even more difficult to the Albanian people. They must not reduce the public investments. They should not give the people’s money to their oligarchy”, Basha declared.
