Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Socialist leader, Edi Rama, met with the leaders of the ally parties
in the opposition’s coalition. He introduced a draft-platform of
electoral cooperation.
The meeting started at 16:30 behind closed doors and lasted almost one hour. The Social Democratic Party leader, Paskal Milo, released a statement for the journalists.
Milo declared that the allies agreed on the draft-platform presented by the SP, which, according to him, reflected the remarks of the allies.
According to Milo, the platform will be signed in the next meeting. He added that the next phase will be the signing of a special agreement between the SP and all coalition parties.
“After a few days we will sign this draft-platform to turn it into a final document that will lead the opposition’s coalition to the elections. After signing this platform, there will be another phase that will continue with the mutual agreements between the SP and all other parties, and the participation in government will be defined by the valued and contribution in the elections”, Milo declared.
The PDS leader gave some details of the platform proposed by the Socialists. There is to be expected a cooperation between the SP and the coalition party, if the latter will receive 500 to 1000 votes in a district level, and cooperation in the central government for 5000 to 10000 votes.
Milo said that the platform leaves the door open for every other party that wants to cooperate in the next elections with the opposition coalition, denying the fact that the meeting was held to invite SMI or not in the coalition.
“SMI was not mentioned. We only discussed about the construction of our coalition which has 31 parties and is getting bigger. I can say that it is the winner coalition”, Milo declared.
