Olsi Rama, the brother of the Prime Minister of Albania, was publicly denounced two days ago by the opposition MP Gazment Bardhi as “involved in the criminal organization of Xibraka”.
Bardhi sent a letter to the SPAK special prosecution to start investigations, while today Olsi Rama counter-sued Bardhi for defamation, commenting that ‘either he will go to prison as a trafficker, or Bardhi must be prosecuted and punished as evidence fabricator”.
In the lawsuit, the prime minister’s brother declares: “Today I filed a complaint against the shameless MP Gazmend Bardhi, who has publicly violated my public honor and dignity, as an individual, parent and manager of a well-known football club, inventing a totally non-existent connection between me and a group of drug dealers.”
Bardhi had earlier denounced that “from the data of the TIMS electronic system it appears that Olsi Rama, the prime minister’s brother and the main members of the criminal group of Xibraka, Genci Xhixha, Ermal Hoxha and Gentjan Gjonaj have used several times, together or separately , the vehicle with license plates AA653DM”.
Bardhi earlier added: These evidences prove that Albania is not led by a democratic government, but is ruled by a prime minister taken hostage by the criminal organizations of cocaine trafficking. This is the mildest setting I could make for Edi Rama because the facts I will present today could make him a collaborator or in alliance with these organized crime organizations. “Xibraka” is the first cocaine laboratory that was discovered in Albania, only 1 year after Edi Rama came to power”.
Olsi Rama adds in his lawsuit that he is not a ‘politician’ and has no other connection with politics, “except as a voter of my brother”.
“I really hope that the SPAK prosecution, in which I, along with many others, have faith, does not take my accusation to the big bin of this absurd normality. I am entirely available to investigate what the insolent MP calls evidence, of my belonging to a criminal group of drug traffickers”, said Rama, among other things.
