Opposition: Tirana Mayor favored brother-in-law

The opposition accused the Mayor of Tirana of favoring the businesses of
his brother in law by giving him the right to process the wastes of the
city without undergoing any tender procedures and without having a
construction or environmental permit.

The Socialist MP, Artan Gaci, declared that these interests blocked the referendum against the waste import.

“We have what proves the real reason why that much opposed law was brought so urgently. This is the real reason why the referendum signed by 75.000 citizens was blocked”, Gaci declared.

The Socialist MP underlined that the Mayor ordered the Tirana Police to use violence against the Roma people who collect trash cans to survive only to favor his brother in law.

The “Grin Company” that had taken Tirana’s waste management was identified only a few days ago, and it was registered under the name of Oliver Shtylla, who had written in his professional profile that he was a manager at the Megatek mall.
