Lulzim Basha has appeared happy as never before after today’s meeting with the US Ambassador, Donald Lu.
The secret is at the preliminary opinion given by the Venice Commission, which the opposition sees as legal guarantee for a reform that keeps politics and corruption away from justice.
The opposition leader shared this convinction with Ambassador Lu, and, for the first time after several meetings, the Democratic Party was ready to support the new draft of the justice reform that will be based on some suggestions of the Venice Commission.
“This is the map of the path that we need to follow”, Basha said after meeting with the US Ambassador.
Basha didn’t appear only cooperative, but almost challenging in his message to Edi Rama and Ilir Meta.
“I invite them to accept this path and pass it as soon as possible, to remove the influence of politics in justice”, Basha declared.
Ambassador Lu didn’t give any comment, but he also seemed happy with the meeting.
Former PM Berisha met with Mr.Lu earlier, and said that the suggestions of the Commission of Venice reflect the stances and remarks drafted by the opposition.
Berisha said that the political forces must support the advice of the Chief of the Venice Commission, who recommends parties to follow for the justice reform the same policy as for the decriminalization law.
