Operation against energy increases encasing with 47%

Minister Damian Gjiknuri says that the first month against the energy
theft has increased the revenues with 47%, or 4.38 billion ALL compared
to the same month of one year ago, and has decreased the losses at a
historic level.

“The level of losses for November has marked a historic drop, by reaching 32.8% compared to November 2013, when the level of losses was 48%”, Gjiknuri declared.

The Minister says that from December 4th, when entered in effect the new payment scheme with a 80% discount for delay fines, the Energy Corporation has signed 16.800 agreements for paying debts.

“7318 of them are families, who have benefited from the 80% reduction by completely paying the debts that have been accumulated towards the company. 967 agreements have been collected these days for paying the obligation of families that receive economic assistance”, Gjiknuri declared.

The Minister says that the government plans to pay the debts that have been accumulated towards the concessionaries and the Hydropower Plants, which mounts up to 60 million USD.

“These days started the liquidation of 1.1 billion ALL of obligations, which will be completed within this month with 2 billion ALL, paying 70% of the debt. This debt will be completely liquidated within April 2015”, Gjiknuri declared.
