“One country, one police”, was the promise of the majority during the
electoral campaign. The Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, declared that
it will be implemented with the new law for the state police.

“Illegal buildings, violations and crimes against environment, although they seemed like they were not affecting citizens, damage the society and its capacity to improve our lives. The principle one state one police regulates and establishes new basis for regulating the anarchy of competences between police agencies in a definite way, and for concentrating the criminal prosecution competences even for these acts”, declared the Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri.

During the presentation of this draft-law, Tahiri explained the way how the Bureau of Investigations works.

“The law of the state police cannot address all aspects for the reformation of the criminal police. But it is certain that the creation of the National Bureau of Investigation, as we have foreseen it, takes an important step in the capacity of the state police to answer the challenges and for fighting the organized crime and corruption with zero tolerance, especially the elite”, Tahiri declared.

Only 1% of the State Police can be civilian, because professionals have been hired in various sectors, especially electronic and information engineers.

“This crime imposes the necessity for the Police to be open with the society and attract the most qualified people to be part of the investigations and guarantee the state police to hold proper investigations to bring to law those who have been able to escape today, because they know more than the law enforcing agencies”, the Interior Minister concluded.
