Ombudsman presents two candidates for Commissioner

Ombudsman Igli Totozani presented the two candidates proposed to the
Parliament for the post of the Commissioner at the Ombudsman. The
candidates are Ermir Kapedani and Ardian Hysa.

“We want to contribute in a modern Albania of true, deep European values, an example to be followed in our region, against taboos and prejudice. We wish to give not only an equal chance to the disabled people, but also to the country and society, the economy, politics and our culture, to use this immense human capital that has been under-evaluated so far. We wish to implement the UN Convention for the rights of disabled people, and also play an important role in fulfilling Recommendation 11 for Albania”, declared Ombudsman Igli Totozani during the presentation of the candidates.

Ermir Kapedani was graduated in 1996 at the Faculty of Justice, Tirana, while he continues his studies for Business Administration faculty in Tirana. He was engaged with a series of projects in the human rights area, mainly for disabled people.

The second candidate, Ardian Hysa, was graduated at the University of Elbasan in 2001. He received the counselor title at the Chamber of Lawyers, and works at the Belsh
