A scrap metal checkpoint in Lushnje is seriously polluting the environment.

The owners have chosen to destroy old vehicles by burning them along the Rrogozhina-Lushnje road. The burning takes place during the day, in front of the eyes of thousands of people who travel through this national road, including high rank government officials, who in these days have been seriously engaged for raising environment protection awareness.

Old vehicles are burned for reducing costs in dismantling them and dividing the plastic parts. The smoke covers the entire territory, and everything happens 50 meters from the national road.

After burned, the vehicles are sold as scrap metal. The number of old and unusable vehicles has increased recently, due to the increased tazes.

The vehicles are then sold by their owners to the scrap metal collection points, who then burn them.
