February 28th 2012 will be the last day when the Albanian citizens will be able to travel abroad with the old passports.
With a proposition from the Interior Minister, Bujar Nixhani, the Council of Ministers has decided to remove this document from the circulation. From this date, all Albanians will be able to travel abroad only with the new biometric passport.
According to the Interior Ministry, 2.116.000 biometric passports have been distributed and 2.150.000 were produced in total.
