Head of the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets,
Adriatik Llalla, officially asked the help of a police mission from the
European Union for finding assets of Albanian officials that,
according to him, are suspected to be hidden outside the country. Llalla
did not made public names or numbers, but he said that there are serious
suspicions for officials of all levels.

“Some cases are under investigation, involving officials of all levels”, Llalla declared.

During a meeting between high rank officials from the Interior Ministry and “PAMECA” mission, Interior Minister Bujar Nishani appreciated the role of the Police on May 8th elections and declared that this institution did not fall prey to several provocations, referring to the protests held by the Socialist Party in front of the Central Election Commission building.

“I have the pleasure to share the positive experience of State Police, which knew how to face provocations calmly and full of courage, far from political influence”, Nishani declared.

But EU ambassador in Albania has another vision for what must be expected from the Albanian police. Sequi said that in a time of financial crisis, EU is continuing to give millions of Euros for the Albanian police, not only for simple steps ahead, but for making it equal to other countries’.

“EU has spent 25 million Euros in the recent years, and this is something that must be taken in consideration in a time of financial crisis. This was made for investing in the police, so that they can serve to the citizens, law and order”, Sequi declared.

PAMECA should have ended its mission in Albania, but extended the assistance with another year.
