While the investigations for the assassination of bank CEO Artan Santo
are undergoing, Tonin Qepuri, the police officer who followed the
killers after the murder, declared for “Shqip” that they had drawn a
weapon on him.

“God helped me and I am still shocked after what happened. They pointed their gun to me and I avoided it for a moment”, Qepuri says.

He says that the killers didn’t stay more than one minute in the area where he was patrolling, and that’s why he was unable to talk to them.

“I didn’t speak with the killers. This information is not true. They didn’t speak with anyone, not with the victim and not with others. They had helemts on their heads and no one communicated with them. Everything happened for 60 seconds. They went down from the motorcycle, shot him and left. That’s all that happened”, he declared.

The police officer says that he was continuing his work normally and didn’t have time to communicate with anyone, since he was far from the scene.

He says that he followed the killers up to the “Liqeni i Thate”, where they lost tracks.

“I followed them to the “Liqeni i Thatw” area but they disappeared at the overpass. I couldn’t understand where they went. I looked around, but there was no movement”.

The Prosecutor General, Adriatik Llalla, held a meeting with the special group of prosecutors established for this assassination, who updated him about the progress.

Llalla then met with the leader of the Secret Service, Visho Ajazi Lika, who said that his institution has no information about any threat against Santo.
