Nurse attacked at hospital

A serious incident took place at the “Mother Theresa” University
Hospital Centre, where a patient has hit Nurse Ruzhdi Merja with a chair
on the head.

The cause of this incident was a blackout that didn’t make it possible for Dorjan Brauka, from Berat, to make a kidney stone bombardment therapy for two days, since the equipments do not function with the generator.

“All the respective documentation was made yesterday. The hospital had electric problems and the patient could not undergo the procedure. Since it wasn’t urgent, we scheduled it for tomorrow. We have an electric problem that made us stop our work. This person has initially made verbal attacks against the personnel, and then physically attacked the nurse with a chair. The nurse was in his white cloth, on his duty, which now has become red with blood”, declared Mustafa Xhani, Chief of the Urology.

Despite the head wounds, Ruzhdi Merja is fortunately out of danger. No surgeries were held today in the hospital, due to the lack of electricity.

“I have my surgery clothes on, but didn’t operate because there was no electricity and no urgencies. In cases of urgencies we switch the generators on”, Xhani declared.

Dorjan Brauka, also known as Aleksis, was sued by the Tirana hospital.
