The Tirana gorverment has announced today 18 areas where new housing will be built for families left homeless by the 26-th November earthquake.
Reconstruction Minister Arben Ahmatej listed 18 areas, of which 9 are in Tirana and the rest in the municipalities of Laçi, Durrës, Shijak, Kruja and Kavaja.
According to Ahmetaj, within a few days will also be adopted the model of individual housing benefitting village families, shortly thereafter the open tender procedure will commence.
The new homes will be tendered by the Development Fund and the National Housing Authority, and Ahmetaj has called on citizens to apply as soon as possible.
The November 26 earthquake left thousands homeless. The government has declared to donors that the earthquake damages are over 1 billion euros, of which 700 million are damages on private residences.
