The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, in an exclusive interview for Fox
News declared that Albania and Serbia should leve behind what happened
in Belgrade, and put first the interest to go forward and cooperate for
prosperity.
“It is saddening that this is damaging what we have reached so far. But we have said it and we will reiterate that the Albanian people will not fall in the trap of old politics of hate; in the trap of the old method of communication, filled with hate speeches and that unfortunately characterized the Serbian authorities in the past days. We believe that we need to leave this behind and put our countries’ interest first, and the interest of our countries’ interest is to look forward and work together for prosperity”, Rama declared.
Fox News: Serbian Authorities accuse your brother of flying the drone in the stadium. What is your answer to this?
“Their policy should not be led by a football match and by an incident in the football match. I want to underline that this is ridiculous. These accusations are ridiculous. The Albanians who were part of our delegation cannot have controlled the drone, because we didn’t send supporters for the match. This shows how delicate is our peace and how much we should work, because a flag goes through a stadium and what happens next? Is this enough of a reason to justify the violence and hate, all these declarations that do not help Balkan be seen as a region that has left the past behind? On the other hand, I must underline that the most concerning part were the chants of 30.000 people in the stadium, singing ‘death to Albanians’”, Rama answered.
