A woman that has been sentenced to 6 years in prison fir killing her
husband after suffering systematic domestic violence for many years, has
accused her father-in-law of holding her children hostage, since he
doesn’t allow them to meet with their mother.
Besides the sentence given by the state, Xhevrie Lahi has also been punished by the family of the man that she killed, who do not allow to give her the children.
The woman had subdued to her husband violence for many years, without being able to report him or ask for divorce, until one day she killed her husband during a physical brawl.
Although she was sentenced to six years in prison, she has not been allowed to meet her children, a boy and a girl.
“I haven’t seen my children for the last nine months. They don’t allow me to see them, and my heart is burning, my eyes are going blind without seeing them. I want to meet my children”, the woman says.
The concern of this woman has been made public by the prison leaders themselves, who made everything in their power to make her meet their children.
“We contacted with the Diber Police, and they gave us the numbers of the uncle and the grandfather of the children. The children were good, but they did not allow them to speak with their mother”, declared Elsa Trifoni.
