The Norwegian Minister of Interior, Borge Brende, is holding a visit in
Tirana, where he was received by his counterpart, Ditmir Bushati.
Minister Brende was underlined that this is the first visit of a Norwegian Foreign Minister to Albania in the past 18 years.
As for the cooperation between the two countries, he focused on the economy and the Norwegian investments in our country.
“We have invested in oil and energy production”, Brende said, but cooperation didn’t end with it, the Norwegian Foreign Minister declared, adding: “We have cooperation for the justice reform ad other reforms. My visit here proves the support of Norway to these reforms and to Albania’s EU membership progress”, Brende declared.
He noted that official Oslo also pays attention to the regional leadership of Albania. “We must make sure that Balkan is a stable part of Europe. Albania can play a stabilization role, being in the NATO”, Brende added.
On the other hand, Minister Bushati noted that his counterpart will also discuss the refugee crisis during his stay in Tirana.
“We will speak about the refugee crisis, for increasing the cooperation with the EU members so that our country is not alone to face this crisis”, Bushati said.
