Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The government of Kosovo must leave behind the daily rhetoric related
with the northern crisis and face it with seriousness, through concrete
institutional actions.
The Government of Kosovo, KFOR, EULEX and other security mechanism should end the agony that has gripped the northern territory, and reestablish law and order in full accordance with Kosovo’s Constitution.
These were two of the requests of the Parliamentary Commission of Interior Affairs, Security and Supervision of the Kosovo Special Forces, in an extraordinary meeting held a few days after the wounding of 21 KFOR soldiers and the explosion that took place in Mitrovica.
“The Commission considers that the last four months are enough for all security mechanisms to identify the authors of the criminal acts, the methods they have used and the direct presence of the instruments of the Serbian state, which is making agression in the Kosovo territory, declared Ahmet Isufi, chairman of the Commission for Interior Affairs, Security and Supervision of the Kosovo Special Forces.
Hajredin Kuci welcomed the Commission’s recommendations and declared that they will act in full coordination with KFOR and EULEX, and that the Serbian supported groups will obey to law.
“The recommendations of the Commission will be treated with great seriousness. We will see our abilities and capacities. We will be in full coordination with KFOR and EULEX. I can say that this situation is very unstable. There’s an environment where a Serbian government supported Group is challenging the local and international institutions. We are determined to fully cooperate with KFOR and EULEX, and they will obey to the law and order will prevail”, Hajredin Kuci declared.
The Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister added that the government’s patience will be within the limits of the Constitution and the law. The government will use constitutional and legal means for protecting law and order in Kosovo. Kuci added that he has information that there are Serbian Interior Ministry members in Northern Kosovo. Kuci considered the war threats of the Serbian Deputy Prime Minister, Ivica Dacic, as belonging to the Milosevic period.
“I hoped that he would have changed while growing up, but he has remained the same as when he was a child”, Kuci declared.
