All Albanian citizens will travel to Montenegro without passport, but only with the identity card.

The Foreign Ministry announced that this agreement entered in act since 21 March 2012, in all border checkpoints with Montenegro.

The agreement was signed on 14 December 2012 by the Albanian and Macedonian Foreign Ministers, Edmond Haxhinasto and Milan Rocen.

The agreement was proposed by the Albanian Ministry, which in 2010 launched the idea of creating a free regional movement area, or the Balkan Schengen.
