No customs officials at checkpoint 31

This is the declaration of the Kosovo government, released five days ago for the public. But the declaration of the Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi, saying that there are Kosovo Customs employees in checkpoint 31, apparently is untrue.

The truth is that these border checkpoints have been declared as Military Restricted Areas by KFOR and from that moment, that area is under the full control of KFOR authorities.

“Border checkpoints 1 and 31 are military restricted areas, and the movement of commercial goods is banned. As for the customs officials, they will start working as soon as the conditions will be ready”, declared the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hajredin Kuçi.

Even Kosovo Police authorities have not been present in Northern Kosovo after July 27th. The Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi declared that the cooperation with KFOR has a very significant importance for this part. But what will happen after September 15th, when the agreement with KFOR will have expired? The second person in charge in the government of Kosovo declared:

“It is sure that Kosovo will have its complete territorial authority after September 15th, and will be a democratic country”.

During the government meeting, Prime Minister Thaçi declared that the roadblocks in the main roads have been removed. He warned that there will be no perspective for those that will damage law and order in the Northern part of the country.

Speaking about the reciprocity measures against Serbia, the Minister of Trade, Mimoza Kusari Lila declared that Kosovo companies have started to increase the production capacity due to the higher demand for domestic goods.

She also notified of having given concrete instructions to the Interior Minsitry and KFOR, which according to the Minister also contains a list with the quantity of goods that dare entering from Kosovo Northern points.
