No agreement for roadblocks

No agreement was reached between the Serbian representatives in Northern
Kosovo and KFOR&EULEX representatives for removing the roadblocks.

The meeting held this Wednesday failed due to the Serbian requests, which were found unacceptable by the KFOR representatives.

The meeting failed after the Serbs offered to remove the roadblocks only if the road exploitation would be made in a selective way.

This meant that KFOR would use the roads only for its own needs, such as the transport of troops and their supplies, by excluding the transport of Kosovo Police and Customs agents in the border checkpoints.

This was also confirmed by the Minister for Kosovo at the Serbian Government, Oliver Ivanovic. During a phone conversation, he said that their requests will be the same until there will be a political solution for the administrative issues in north. The Serbs will not accept the presence of the Kosovo authorities in this area.

Ivanovic also declared that the KFOR representative has left the meeting with the Serbs with a revolted behavior, insinuating that the roadblocks will be removed through force.
