Nishani: Independent prosecutors

The Albanian President, Bujar Nishani, asked the Prosecutors to preserve
independence at their job as an element that would affect the increased
quality and the results in justice.
Mr.Nishani held a meeting with General Prosecutor Adriatik Lalla; high represenetatives from the Prosecution of Serious Crimes, from the Tirana District Prosecution, the Task Force and other Prosecutors, focusing on the independence of their institutions.
“Don’t wait for the President to make you independent. Your institution becomes independent through your work. It can be done only by you. Naturally, the priorities of this independence should be the consolidation and professionalism. The more professional you are, the more transparent you are with your daily tasks, the more this institution will be consolidated, and the more will the independence of this institution be strengthened. The citizens will have more access to what they are looking for, creating a trust perception on the independence of this institution”, Nishani declared.
The General Prosecutor Adriatik Lalla underlined that the institution he leads has undertaken to investigate professionally and cooperatively a series of unsolved crimes, among which are those that have happened in justice and the Secret Service sectors.
