Nishani: I want to cooperate with the SP

The newly elected president, Bujar Nishani, expressed his regret that he
was elected only with the votes of the majority, and declared that he
would have wanted the opposition’s votes too. Nishani added that he will
ask the Socialist Party to cooperate.
“I would have liked to have the opposition’s votes, but the opposition exerted their rights. It is a stance that belongs to them as opposition. Important for me is the fact that I offer cooperation to the Albanian opposition, as to all institutions and political actors in Albania. The SP is the second Parliamentary force, their MPs are in parliament and my contact with them will be normal”, Nishani declared.
Nishani declared that he had presented his resignation to Prime Minister Berisha before the Parliamentary voting.
“I presented my resignation to the Prime Minister, and this will continue with the decree of the Albanian President, after the Prime Minister will make his request, based on my resignation”, Nishani declared.
Nishani organized a ceremony for leaving his job as a minister by thanking the staff for the cooperation.
