Nishani: Expecting more from Prosecution

The Albanian President, Bujar Nishani, has insinuated that he will not
support a second mandate for the General Prosecutor, Ina Rama.
Asked by Top Channel about the Prosecution, in an interview for Top Channel, Nishani declared that he expects more engagements from the Prosecution, more courage and professionalism to face the organized crime and corruption.
Nishani declared that he values the work done by the Prosecutors, but more work is needed.
Top Channel: Will we have a new General Prosecutor this autumn and how do you judge the performance of the incumbent GP, Ina Rama?
President Bujar Nishani: As regards the Prosecution, I have declared even earlier that I see it as an institution that needs to engage more, to have more involvement, courage and professionalism for facing the great problems of the organized crime, especially corruption and economic crime. Naturally, their work, their contribution and their positive examples should not be devaluated. There are many prosecutors who workn with courage and professionalism in the prosecution’s system”, Nishani declared.
