The Albanian Interior Minister, Bujar Nishani, met with interested
parties of PAMEKA 3, where he declared that all EU funds for Albania
were spend for increasing security in the country.

Nishani stated that the implementation of this project for public order and security, serious and organized crimes, the integral management of borders and the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Asset Audit, were the areas that will help bringing the state police within the EU standards.

Nishani valued the cooperation of the State Police with HIDAA, but he emphasized that more institutional cooperation is needed, by using updated practices.

Last week Nishani was present in the annual meeting for the war against the cultivation of narcotic plants, referring to an Interpol report. He declared that the cultivation of cannabis still goes on in Albania, but his map is diminishing.

Earlier the month, during a hearing session at the Commission of Security, summoned by the Socialist MPs, the Interior Minister declared that the country has had excellent results in the war against organized crime.
