“Nishani doesn’t guarantee national unity”

“Article 86 of the Constitution has a paragraph that says: the president is head of state for the country’s unity. But his behavior shows that he is not head of state. He has another parallel state, that of the Democratic Party. Nishani cannot represent the unity of the Albanian state. With his behavior he represents a division, and shows that he has been and still is member of the DP”, Manjani said.

During the interview for Top Channel, Manjani commented the reasons why Nishani has blocked every single law.

“This is not about two or three decades, but his stances are compromising. Which president should we believe, the one who says publicly that judges take bribes, or the one who defends these judges. This behavior is politically motivated and doesn’t make Nishani a head of state”, Manjani underlined.

When asked about the silence of Nishani regarding Bank of Albania scandal, the SMI vice leader says:

“It is politically motivated. It is ununderstandable that the President turns into a beast when it is about defending the independent institutions that he decrees, and that he stays silent about the public scandals. There’s no sense that political parties speak about the bank scandal before the president speaks”, Manjani declared.
