
Nicholas Cannon will be the next ambassador that will represent the
United Kingdom in Albania. His appointment was announced by the British
Foreign Office, for replacing Ambassador Fiona McIlhwam, whose mandate
ends in the middle of March.
Mr. Cannon has joined the diplomatic service in 1998. His diplomatic duties have been as Political Secretary at the British Embassy in Paris, as the first State Secretary in Islamabad, as vice Director of the Department for South Africa, at the Foreign Office. His recent post was that of High Commissioner in Rwanda.
According to the UK Foreign office website, Nicholas Cannon has commented his appointment to Albania as a honor, since it coincides with Albania’s 100th independence anniversary.
“I expect to make further progresses in the excellent relations between Albania and the UK”, Cannon declared.
