One day before toll payment is applied on the Nation’s Road, representatives from the Kukes Municipality say that the issue is no longer part of their administration, since it was resolved through an agreement with the central government.
The negotiations for reducing the toll fee for the citizens of Kukes, Has and Tropoja, started after a violent protest in March when the tolls were suddenly applied and drivers were asked to pay 5 Euros per passage.
The new fees will start this Monday. Citizens of Kukes will pay 100 ALL for every passage (0.8 EUR), those under social welfare will pay nothing. For others, the fee will be the same, 5 EUR per passage.
