The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, defended the new education law
and listed its priorities, compared to the existing law. The Prime
Minister said that the new law lays the foundations of a real university
autonomy and guarantees that anarchy and maximal mediocrity will not be
developed.
One of the most criticized parts of the law is the funding issue. Those who oppose the law say that it funds the private education with public money. But the Prime Minister says it is the contrary and this is just speculation. Rama says that this law accepts private funds in public education.
According to the Prime Minister, the new law guarantees academic and administrative quality.
