New law for appealing traffic fines at Administrative Court

08/03/2016 15:05

The Traffic Police Commission will be merged and a group of specialists
from the Ministry of Transportation are expected to start working for
the necessary amends in the code.

Experts say that these commissions had turned into a nightmare for citizens, and now that the administrative courts have been operating for three years, the decision is delayed.

“I think it is a positive thing and citizens will not come around without an answer. The novelty is that all problems go to the administrative court. Citizens may try to remove a fine given by a police officer, as decided by his chief. If the citizen is right, he will win that trial”, said Artur Sulce, road safety expert.

The merging of the commissions will give a key role to the police officers on terrain. With this code they will be unable to give fines lower than 5000 ALL, while the measures for removing the driving license will be up to the Administrative State Institution.
